Ellen Berninger, CHES
Active Living Coordinator/Public Health Educator, Cincinnati Health Department
A Cincinnati native, Ellen has lived in California, Texas, South Korea and Key West before landing back in Cincinnati. After exploring several different schools and majors, such as glass blowing and painting at Kent State University and interior design at Monterey Peninsula College she graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a Bachelor of Science in Health Promotion and Education, also earning her designation as a Certified Health Education Specialist. Ellen then came to work at the Cincinnati Health Department where she serves as a Public Health Educator. She is happy to share her passion for health, fitness and the outdoors by chairing the Active Living Subcommittee of the Cincinnati Health Department’s Creating Healthy Communities Program. Ellen also enjoys arts and crafts of all kinds, especially quilting, and loves to spend lazy afternoons with her two cats.
