Local Procurement and Sustainability Director, Aramark University of Kentucky Dining Services

Carolyn Gahn is the Local Procurement and Sustainability Director for Aramark at the University of Kentucky Dining Services. In this role, she spends over $2 million dollars annually with local farms and businesses and has worked with local partners to create Aramark’s signature farm-to-table programs, The Local Salad Bar and the Whole Animal Program, which secures an annual commitment to buy with local farms of 24,000lbs of produce and 58,000 of beef and pork, respectively. Before this work, she was the co-founder of Sweetgrass Natural Foods and also has worked as a community organizer with Community Farm Alliance.
